Green Screens (or Blue Screens)

Green Screens (or blue screens) are a useful accessory to the presenter. They allow the background to be removed and another background put into place - this is called chromakeying. There are many types of backgrounds available to do this and when choosing one you need to think about how you will use it. If you dont have much space and present mainly from a seated location then a pop-up roller background may suffice, however if you want to stand-up, perhaps walk about a little then you may need a larger screen. CONS: Difficult to put away. Suitable for presenters who are seated.

PROS - Cost effective solution and good value for money. You can present standing up.

CONS - Difficult to keep the creases out which may make lighting the backdrop difficult. Takes up a lot of space when erected.

PROS - This allows the cloth to be pulled tight across the aluminium frame so no creases. The presenter can be seated, stood up or walk about comfortably with this. Easy to light.

CONS - Expensive however it is worth it due to it’s versatility.
